Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with clinical excellence, using best-practice nursing assessments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while following facility protocols
• Provide trauma and stroke-focused interventions when indicated, utilizing TNCC and NIHSS knowledge
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families with compassion — explain diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond to emergencies and support rapid, effective interventions when seconds count
• Maintain compliance with required trainings, competencies and facility-specific checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license verification required) — eligible to practice in Iowa
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed in the job requirements
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Passing Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and fit test as part of pre-placement requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations/health documentation: Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA
• Current physical/health statement on file and ability to meet facility health requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Trauma and stroke care knowledge (TNCC, NIHSS application)
• Proficiency with medication administration and emergency response
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting in electronic medical records
• Ability to follow specialty competency testing and facility-specific protocols
• Effective communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Infection control practices and adherence to occupational health requirements
• Adaptability to new settings and confidence in independent decision-making
