Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with secondary behavioral health needs
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alarms
Collaborate with psychiatrists and the care team to support patients with mental health conditions
Administer medications safely and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner
Float to ED psych holds or other MedSurg floors as needed to support the broader hospital team
Ensure patient safety through video monitoring and appropriate use of chemical restraints when necessary

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum one year of Level 1 trauma experience in a 600+ bed facility
Strong MedSurg/Telemetry skills with a genuine interest in working with patients who have behavioral health needs
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) and complete SIMs Lab skills on day one of orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
Cerner electronic medical record system
Sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Patient safety protocols including video monitoring and restraint management
Effective communication with patients experiencing confusion, dementia, or low cognitive ability
