Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients with diverse health conditions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage IV therapies with precision.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (or compact license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current NIHSS certification
• Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing is preferred but not required
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing protocols and procedures
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs
