Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist with patient exams, procedures, and adjustments, helping to keep every visit running smoothly.
  • Take dental radiographs, impressions, and digital scans to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Sterilize and prepare instruments, operatory rooms, and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, braces care, and post-procedure instructions so they leave with confidence.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records, including treatment notes and charting.
  • Provide compassionate chairside support to help patients feel at ease during orthodontic treatment.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current orthodontic assistant certification (ortho certified).
  • Dental assistant experience with a strong focus on orthodontics.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software and digital imaging systems.
  • Excellent patient communication and chairside manner.
  • Ability to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of orthodontic instruments, supplies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management and electronic health records.
  • Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a busy clinical setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
