Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments to uphold the highest safety standards
• Take dental radiographs and impressions with precision and care
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and appliance hygiene, helping them feel confident in their treatment
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment coordination to keep everything on track

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or the ability to obtain it
• Radiography certification, with X-ray experience a plus
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
• A compassionate, patient-first mindset
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control protocols
• Experience with dental software and record-keeping
• Excellent patient communication and chairside manner
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
