Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for residents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and quality of life
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document patient progress and adjust therapy goals as needed
• Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques and strategies
• Support residents in achieving their highest level of functional independence

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Speech-Language Pathologist license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in dysphagia assessment and treatment
• Knowledge of cognitive-communication disorders and neurogenic communication deficits
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
