Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and operatory rooms for patient care
• Assist the orthodontist during examinations, fittings, and adjustments of braces and aligners
• Take dental X-rays and create impressions for custom orthodontic appliances
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care of orthodontic equipment
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
• Ensure a comfortable, welcoming experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or comparable training is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• X-ray certification (dental) strongly preferred
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• A warm, empathetic approach to patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Familiarity with dental software for scheduling and patient records
• Strong attention to infection control and safety standards
• Excellent communication and active listening skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Organizational skills to keep treatment rooms ready
