Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to keep patients' smiles healthy
• Assess patients' oral health and accurately document your findings
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure a comfortable, relaxed experience
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, instruments, and best practices
• Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental radiographs
• Excellent patient education and communication abilities
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Attention to detail and thorough clinical documentation
• Ability to work efficiently while keeping patients at ease
