Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a busy Med Surg/Ortho Trauma unit
• Monitor telemetry and collaborate with tele techs to interpret rhythms
• Titrate IV drips including heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine as ordered
• Manage PCA pumps and complex medication regimens with confidence
• Coordinate frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining hourly rounding
• Work as a team player with charge nurses, patient care techs, and the whole multidisciplinary team
• Deliver culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population spanning multiple languages and backgrounds

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (driver's license required at submission)
• BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Ability to pass the open-book orientation exam with a 90% or higher
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing telemetry patients
• Willing to float to other medical surgical areas as needed
• No artificial nails in patient care areas (per facility policy)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• EPIC charting proficiency
• Drip titration for heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
• PCA pump management
• Med Surg nursing skills including post-operative care and patient education
• ACLS (preferred)
