Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Long-Term Care/Rehab

Location: Mound City, Missouri

Start Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts, flexible start between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM; 35 guaranteed weekly hours, no weekends required

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
  • Develop individualized care plans following regulatory and clinical practice standards
  • Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and document outcomes in the clinical record
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
  • Collaborate with supervisors and the healthcare team on patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
  • Create comprehensive discharge summaries in line with regulatory and clinical requirements
  • Supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and interdisciplinary meetings
  • Maintain accurate documentation and treatment records in the electronic documentation system

Qualifications

  • Active Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
  • At least 1 year of SLP experience required (new grads with Level II clinical experience are welcome)
  • Long-term care or rehabilitation experience required
  • Experience holding active CCC-SLP for 3 years preferred
  • Ability to supervise CFY and student SLPs
  • One professional reference required at time of submission

  • Patient assessment and evidence-based treatment planning
  • Clinical documentation and electronic health record proficiency
  • Treatment outcome evaluation and plan modification
  • Patient and family counseling skills
  • Discharge planning and coordination
  • Knowledge of ASHA standards and Missouri practice acts
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Supervision of CFY and graduate student clinicians
