Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care using the Nursing Process to guide safe, high-quality outcomes
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to promptly identify changes in patient status
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and unit protocols
• Assume leadership on shift by delegating tasks, coordinating care, and supporting less-experienced staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and communicate effectively during handoffs
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies to protect patients and team members
• Participate in patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (must be valid prior to start)
• Current ACLS and BLS required; PALS or ENPC required (active before contract start or course must be booked at orientation)
• Experience working in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry environments (clinical proficiency expected)
• Demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, and work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficient with the Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Ability to delegate safely and supervise support staff
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and facility standards of care
• Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record workflows
