Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care for complex ICU patients including post-CABG and ventilated patients
• Manage ventilators and provide expert ventilator care and troubleshooting
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive medications in collaboration with the team
• Participate in ECMO and transplant patient care when applicable, following intensivist guidance
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and provide bedside shift report with whiteboard updates
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
• Maintain unit standards, follow safety protocols, and contribute to a respectful, professional workplace

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfort with high-acuity cases such as post-CABG care, CVICU patients, and CPR
• Ability to float to other ICUs or PCU as needed
• Meditech experience preferred; CVICU and ECMO experience a strong plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for rapid, high-acuity decision making
• Proficiency in ventilator settings, weaning, and airway management
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting invasive lines/pressures
• Familiarity with ECMO basics and post-transplant care workflows
• Comfortable using Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and bedside reporting skills
