Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population across multiple ERs in Zone 1
• Float between Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• Perform triage, assessments, and interventions for patients with conditions ranging from abdominal pain to trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, techs, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Administer standard ER medications, manage drips, and monitor telemetry strips
• Adapt quickly to different unit layouts, protocols, and patient volumes (40-168 patients per day per facility)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent ER experience preferred
• Ability to float within a 60-mile radius across multiple facilities
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments with varying trauma levels
• Willingness to undergo a 2-3 day unit-specific orientation

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in emergency settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities across different teams and facilities
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing assignments and shift patterns
