Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population with conditions ranging from strokes to trauma
Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity in a fast-paced 15-bed unit with a 6-bed fast track
Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and a dedicated support team including 24/7 unit secretaries and techs
Monitor telemetry strips and communicate with central monitor tech in ICU for seamless patient care
Document accurately using Cerner First Net EMR system
Participate in rotating holiday schedule as part of the perm staff rotation

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Level III trauma experience or above strongly preferred
Experience with Cerner (First Net) EMR is a plus
Active California RN license in good standing
Ability to handle high-volume patient visits (100/day) and pediatric patients (500-600/month)

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in emergency nursing and trauma care
Proficient in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Comfortable with ventilator management and code situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to varying patient acuities and rapid changes
