Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care for CVICU patients following unit protocols
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator assessments to optimize respiratory support
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage Swan-Ganz catheters to support critical care decisions
• Care for arterial and central lines and manage chest tubes with precision
• Operate and monitor CRRT and Impella devices when clinically indicated
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate complex cardiac care
• Support CABG recovery patients and respond effectively to emergencies and changes in condition

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar) — candidates without this will not be considered
• Hands-on ventilator experience and competence with arterial/central line and chest tube management
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Comfortable with CRRT and Impella management (preferred)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN are preferred but not strictly required

Education

• Active RN license (state of practice)
• BSN preferred; CCRN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular critical care principles and post-op CABG recovery
• Skillful ventilator management and respiratory assessment
• Proficient in hemodynamic interpretation and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines and chest tube care
• Familiarity with CRRT and Impella device management
• Comfortable using Meditech for charting and orders
• Able to work effectively in a 2:1 patient ratio, collaborative team player
