Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual and group psychotherapy to incarcerated adults using evidence-based approaches
• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed to ensure safety
• Document clinical encounters thoroughly and accurately in accordance with facility policy
• Collaborate with correctional staff and a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Participate in orientation and ongoing trainings to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted state license as a Psychologist, or licensure as an LMFT or LCSW (PSY, LMFT, LCSW credentials welcome)
• Experience or comfort working in correctional or forensic mental health settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with adults experiencing serious mental health needs
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and any onboarding clearances
• Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist roles; Master’s degree for LMFT or LCSW in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Experience with individual, group, and crisis interventions
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapies such as CBT and trauma-informed approaches
• Competent clinical documentation and electronic health record usage
• Understanding of correctional facility operations, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements
