Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess individuals using evidence-based psychological assessments and clinical interviews
• Develop individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and safety in a correctional setting
• Provide psychotherapy and crisis intervention to patients with a range of mental health needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, nursing, and custody staff to coordinate care
• Conduct psychological testing and interpret results to inform treatment recommendations
• Document clinical encounters clearly and timely in the medical record
• Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and staff training
• Support the facility’s psychiatric program goals and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
• Licensed Psychologist in California or eligible for California licensure
• Experience in mental health settings, ideally with forensic or correctional populations
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and psychotherapeutic skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility clearances
• Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and diagnostic criteria
• Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy techniques
• Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment
• Familiarity with treatment planning and progress monitoring
• Comfort working within security protocols of a correctional facility
• Strong electronic medical record documentation skills
