Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Provide individual and group therapy tailored to correctional mental health needs
• Develop and update clear, evidence-based treatment plans that move patients forward
• Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization when acute behavioral needs arise
• Collaborate with custody and multidisciplinary clinical teams to coordinate care
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the health record system
• Participate in case reviews, treatment meetings and professional training activities
• Support continuity of care and discharge planning with a focus on patient safety

Qualifications

• Valid PSYL (Psychologist) license in good standing; LPCC or LMFT candidates accepted
• Experience or interest in correctional mental health or working with justice-involved populations
• Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with adults
• Ability to work Monday through Friday daytime schedule and collaborate with institutional staff
• Willingness and ability to complete required facility background/security clearance and onboarding

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology preferred for PSYL candidates
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy acceptable for LPCC/LMFT candidates

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy skills
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Treatment planning and progress monitoring
• Excellent clinical documentation and time management
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and cultural competence
• Comfort collaborating in a multidisciplinary, security-aware environment
