Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote mental health and safety
• Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy interventions
• Perform crisis intervention and triage when urgent mental health needs arise
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing and correctional staff to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and treatment records in the facility system
• Participate in treatment planning meetings and contribute to program development

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
• Active California psychologist license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Experience providing clinical mental health services, ideally with adult populations
• Comfort working in a correctional or forensic setting is highly desired
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with treatment planning
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility credentialing
• Reliable availability for a Monday-Friday daytime assignment (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required/preferred depending on facility credentialing
• State licensure in Psychology (California) required or pending

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in psychological assessment and evidence-based therapies (for example CBT)
• Skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Knowledge of psychodiagnostic tools and treatment planning
• Ability to collaborate with care teams and communicate clearly with custody staff
• Comfortable with professional documentation and electronic health records
• Cultural competence and trauma-informed care approach
