Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments to inform individualized care
• Develop and implement evidence-informed treatment plans that support recovery goals
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on substance abuse treatment and co-occurring disorders
• Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and behavioral health colleagues to coordinate care
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when urgent situations arise
• Maintain timely, thorough clinical documentation and comply with facility policies
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active California Psychologist license (PSYL) required; LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC considered for related roles
• Clinical experience in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment preferred
• Comfort working with adult forensic/behavioral health populations in a structured facility
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical recordkeeping
• Ability to complete one-week orientation prior to starting clinical duties

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (for Psychologist roles) or Master’s degree in Social Work for LCSW candidates
• Relevant postgraduate clinical training or supervised experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in mental health assessment and substance use disorder treatment approaches
• Proficient in individual and group therapy techniques and treatment planning
• Experienced in crisis assessment/intervention and risk management
• Collaborative team player with clear communication skills
• Culturally competent care and sensitivity to diverse patient needs
