Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to an adult patient population with compassion and clinical excellence
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based care
• Coordinate care and referrals with specialists and facility healthcare teams
• Document clinical encounters thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
• Participate in a 2–3 week training/onboarding to learn site-specific protocols
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold facility policies and safety standards

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree in good standing
• Completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active California medical license (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred
• Previous primary care experience; correctional health experience is a strong plus

Education

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of preventive care, chronic disease management, and urgent care in an outpatient/correctional setting
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting in a clear, timely manner
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with clinical guidelines and quality improvement processes
