Shift Type: Typically Monday-Friday (4 or 5 days per week), 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (day shift); admin day or half-day as needed. Rotating on-call coverage 1:4 (7-day call blocks including one weekend per rotation).

Candidate Pay Rate: $245 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert outpatient oncology and hematology care as a core member of the clinical team
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumors and hematologic conditions
• Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncology, oncology APPs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Prescribe and oversee chemotherapy and manage treatment-related complications
• Participate in the on-call rotation, including inpatient management when patients are admitted for chemo
• Support efficient clinic flow while ensuring timely access — aim to see new referrals within a week when possible
• Contribute to credentialing and quality initiatives to maintain excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with fellowship training in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
• Board certified or board eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Active or eligible for an Oregon medical license and ability to obtain DEA registration
• Experience practicing in outpatient oncology/hematology settings with chemotherapy management
• Proficiency with EPIC or willingness to complete site EPIC orientation prior to start
• Comfort participating in a 1:4 call rotation and occasional inpatient chemo management
• Willingness to complete credentialing process (estimated ~6–8 weeks)

Education

• MD or DO
• Fellowship training in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
• Board certified or board eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of solid tumor oncology and hematology presentations
• Chemotherapy prescribing and toxicity management
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records for documentation and orders
• Team-based care skills: collaborating with radiation oncology, APPs, nurses and pharmacy
• Excellent communication with patients and families about diagnoses and treatment plans
• Efficient outpatient clinic management and time management skills
• Ability to supervise and mentor APPs when appropriate
