Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (day shifts); Monday-Friday night call, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night call; 2.5 gratis hours); Saturday-Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (24-hour call; 4 gratis hours). Includes locum blocks beginning Dec 1 (Dec 1–16) and holiday block Dec 23–Jan 6, with additional ongoing dates.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform interventional cardiology procedures, both scheduled and unscheduled, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care
• Provide interventional call coverage for inpatient and emergent cases, responding promptly and effectively
• Conduct inpatient consults and interpret inpatient study reads to guide patient management
• Support outpatient clinic sessions as needed during the assignment
• Collaborate closely with RNs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and safe care transitions
• Document care accurately in EPIC and participate in handoffs and on-call communications

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of an Interventional Cardiology fellowship
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology/Interventional Cardiology (preferred)
• Licensed or able to obtain an active Colorado medical license in a timely fashion
• Experience with interventional procedures, inpatient consults, and call coverage
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record
• BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Available to begin locum coverage starting Dec 1 and able to complete credentialing timeline (45–60 days; temporary options possible)

Education

• MD or DO; Interventional Cardiology fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skill in interventional cardiology procedures and crisis management
• Comfort managing inpatient and outpatient cardiology workflows
• Strong clinical documentation skills within EPIC
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
• Good communication skills for patient discussions and multidisciplinary coordination
• Experience handling on-call responsibilities and emergent decision-making
