Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care hospital setting and determine individualized needs
• Develop and implement targeted care plans to improve patient function and outcomes
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, speech therapists and rehab techs
• Document assessments, progress and discharge summaries using Cerner Power Chart
• Use patient lifting equipment safely and effectively to maximize patient mobility
• Communicate treatment plans and progress with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Apply evidence-based techniques for orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy required
• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary care is helpful
• Comfortable using patient lifting equipment such as SARA+, Stedy and Maximove
• Familiarity with Cerner Power Chart documentation preferred

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and care plan development
• Acute care procedures and safety protocols
• Therapeutic techniques for orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patients
• Skilled documentation in Cerner Power Chart
• Safe use of patient lifting equipment and mobility aids
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient ratios in an inpatient rehab setting
