Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate CVICU nursing care for post-op cardiac and critically ill patients
• Manage ventilators and perform advanced ventilator care and weaning protocols
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, including Swan-Ganz catheter assessments
• Manage central and arterial lines, CRRT, chest tubes, and support Impella patients when needed
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond rapidly to clinical changes and support emergency interventions
• Coach and educate patients and families about cardiac care and recovery processes

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or other critical care specialty) as noted in unit must-have
• Demonstrated ventilator experience and competency with arterial/central line and chest tube management
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz
• Comfort working in a 2:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity CVICU environment
• Preferred: CVICU-specific experience, CABG recovery, CRRT, Impella exposure
• Preferred: BSN and/or CCRN certification
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced critical care nursing practices and cardiac post-op management
• Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• CRRT operation and patient management
• Central line, arterial line, and chest tube insertion care and troubleshooting
• Use of cardiac support devices such as Impella and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Strong teamwork, communication, and bedside assessment skills
