Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately for the facility population
• Maintain medication inventory and restock supplies to ensure continuity of care
• Follow established medication safety protocols and documentation procedures
• Coordinate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to resolve medication queries
• Support medication administration workflows and assist with patient education when appropriate
• Participate in orientation and training to meet facility-specific procedures and standards

Qualifications

• PHTEC (Pharmacy Technician) classification as listed — current certification preferred
• Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment (ISP - Ironwood State Prison)
• Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Successful completion of the 2-week orientation period
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
• Ability to pass facility-required background/clearance processes

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician certification (PHTEC) or equivalent credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with medication preparation and dispensing practices
• Basic inventory management and record-keeping skills
• Clear communication skills for coordinating with pharmacists and clinical staff
• Comfort with facility-specific policies and adherence to safety protocols
• Dependable time management and ability to work consistently within scheduled shifts
