Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists by accurately preparing and dispensing medications with care
• Manage inventory tasks like stocking, labeling, and checking expirations to keep the pharmacy running smoothly
• Process prescriptions and insurance claims with attention to detail
• Provide friendly, patient-focused service at the counter and over the phone
• Maintain accurate records and follow established safety and compliance procedures
• Support pharmacy workflows by preparing bulk medications and restocking automated systems
• Communicate effectively with nursing and clinical teams to ensure timely medication delivery

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician certification preferred (PTCB or state equivalent) or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience as a pharmacy tech or in a pharmacy setting strongly preferred
• Valid state pharmacy technician registration if required by Colorado
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; pharmacy tech certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with pharmacy workflows and medication dispensing processes
• Comfort using pharmacy management systems and basic computer applications
• Knowledge of sterile and non-sterile medication handling basics
• Understanding of insurance billing and prescription processing
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting
• Team-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills
