Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and treatments, anticipating their needs
- Take and process dental X-rays with care and precision
- Educate young patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene habits in a fun and approachable way
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling to keep the office running smoothly
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment to uphold strict infection control standards
Qualifications
- A friendly, patient, and caring attitude, especially when working with children
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or relevant state certification preferred
- Previous experience in a dental office, ideally pediatric dentistry
- Current radiography (X-ray) certification as required by Wisconsin state law
- Ability to connect with kids and help them feel at ease during visits
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and parents
- Attention to detail in every task, from X-rays to recordkeeping
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic patient management systems
