Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and treatments, anticipating their needs
• Take and process dental X-rays with care and precision
• Educate young patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene habits in a fun and approachable way
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling to keep the office running smoothly
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment to uphold strict infection control standards

Qualifications

• A friendly, patient, and caring attitude, especially when working with children
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or relevant state certification preferred
• Previous experience in a dental office, ideally pediatric dentistry
• Current radiography (X-ray) certification as required by Wisconsin state law
• Ability to connect with kids and help them feel at ease during visits
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and parents
• Attention to detail in every task, from X-rays to recordkeeping
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic patient management systems
