Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to create personalized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities that help patients regain independence in daily living
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other therapists to ensure holistic care
• Document patient progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving goals
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to continue progress at home
• Support discharge planning by recommending adaptive equipment and home modifications

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Maine or compact privilege
• NBCOT certification required or in progress
• Prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehab settings preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and interventions
• Understanding of Medicare and insurance documentation requirements
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
• Patient-centered approach with strong empathy and active listening
