Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel comfortable and informed
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed, following safety protocols
• Sterilize and prepare instruments and equipment for each patient
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with charting

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or registration as required in Maryland
• Certified in CPR and basic life support
• Experience assisting in an orthodontic or dental setting preferred
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and X-ray procedures
• Familiarity with dental practice management software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Compassionate patient care approach
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the orthodontist and adapt quickly
