Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following infection control protocols
• Take and mount dental X-rays and intraoral photos as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with office workflow

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification in Maryland (RDA or CDA)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• X-ray certification required (Maryland state certification)
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and digital X-ray systems
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
