Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered clinical support during outpatient visits
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment and supplies are ready
• Obtain and record vital signs and basic clinical measurements accurately
• Assist providers with procedures, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
• Document patient encounters and tasks clearly in the electronic health record
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate actively in orientation to learn facility-specific policies and workflows

Qualifications

• Certified or registered Medical Assistant preferred; equivalent clinical training considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with patient interactions in an outpatient pediatrics setting
• Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate/diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of routine outpatient clinical procedures and infection control practices
• Skill in taking accurate vital signs and preparing patients for provider exams
• Familiarity with phlebotomy and specimen handling is a plus
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting clinical activity
• Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Empathy, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
