Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a mental health setting
  • Take and record vital signs, assist with clinical assessments and triage
  • Support treatment plans by assisting clinicians and documenting encounters
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living as appropriate to role (CNA duties)
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and follow facility documentation standards
  • Practice infection control, safety protocols, and site-specific policies (HDSP)
  • Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team to promote coordinated care

Qualifications

  • Active Medical Assistant certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (MA preferred)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience or interest in mental health care; prior correctional facility experience is a plus
  • Ability to pass background checks and meet facility requirements for HDSP
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in taking vitals and basic clinical procedures
  • Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
  • Knowledge of mental health care principles and therapeutic communication
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow protocols, safety procedures, and maintain patient dignity
