Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care during overnight shifts
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Monitor, assess, and document resident condition and vital signs
- Perform skilled nursing tasks such as wound care and catheter care as needed
- Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Support residents with activities of daily living and promote dignity
- Complete accurate documentation, handoffs, and care plans to ensure continuity
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection-control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Maine) required
- BLS/CPR certification required or obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively on overnight shifts
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and care team
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma/certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate charting
- Basic wound care and infection control practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation
- Resident assessment and care planning
- Teamwork, problem solving, and calm decision-making during night hours
- Compassionate approach to resident-centered care
