Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care to birthing patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment tools and interventions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives and anesthesia for safe deliveries
• Perform and document thorough assessments, interventions and patient education
• Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies and escalate concerns
• Participate in Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklists
• Support families with clear communication, education and emotional presence throughout labor

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of Ohio) — license and certificate verification required
• Certifications: BLS, NRP and NIHSS (all listed as required)
• Current fit test, 10-panel drug screen, color vision, and required immunizations/vaccines
• Experience or comfort working in Labor & Delivery settings (Labor & Delivery listed as core skill)
• Willingness to complete Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong labor and delivery clinical skills and maternal-fetal monitoring
• Proficiency with documentation, triage and handoffs in an L&D environment
• Ability to recognize and act on changes in maternal or fetal status
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Comfort with emergency response protocols and escalation procedures
• Patient- and family-centered education and support skills
