Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening/Night shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility)
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Document care and observations accurately and timely in resident records
Support safe transfers and ambulation with attention to fall prevention
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized care plans
Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection prevention practices

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Comfort with standing, lifting, and physical tasks typical of long-term care

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of a GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

Resident-centered care principles and respectful bedside manner
Basic infection control and safe patient handling techniques
Accurate documentation and reporting of resident observations
Teamwork, time management, and the ability to follow care plans
Familiarity with long-term care practices and geriatric needs
