Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning with proper technique
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control standards
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and comfort measures to enhance patient dignity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary staff to support continuity of care
• Document care accurately and timely in patient records

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Current immunizations and health screening per facility requirements
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to handle physical demands of patient care
• Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or acute care setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed and active CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of patient hygiene, mobility assistance, and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic charting and documentation skills; willingness to learn electronic health record systems
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize patient needs
