Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Take and record vital signs, observe residents for changes in condition, and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident status
- Support the interdisciplinary team to promote resident comfort, dignity and independence
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with residents, families and team members
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active CNA registration or eligibility to be listed in Pennsylvania
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a patient-focused care team and communicate effectively
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of direct patient care and activities of daily living
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable time management and the ability to follow care plans
