Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver engaging clinical education and simulation training for surgical staff
• Collaborate with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators to identify learning needs and implement targeted education
• Use mannequin- and software-based simulation to teach technical and theoretical clinical skills
• Evaluate program effectiveness and participant learning; refine curricula and course materials accordingly
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff, promoting best practices and supporting quality improvement initiatives
• Support Quality Management activities and participate in DNV program education when applicable
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with staff and learners while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Prioritize tasks effectively, work independently, and escalate barriers to timely completion to the manager

Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license (required)
• Minimum 5 years hospital nursing experience with at least 3 years operating room (OR) experience
• CNOR, ACLS, PALS, and Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR certifications (required)
• Typing speed of at least 45 WPM
• Proven experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience teaching others, developing courses, and evaluating learning outcomes (preferred)
• Experience with simulation manikins and simulation software (preferred)
• MSN strongly preferred; BSN required (or equivalent experience with plan to obtain BSN within agreed timeframe)

Education

• BSN (Bachelor's degree in Nursing) required or equivalent experience with commitment to obtain BSN if applicable
• MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical education and curriculum development skills
• Proficiency with simulation training (mannequins & software)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, and presentation skills
• Ability to write clear educational objectives and evaluate participant learning
• Comfortable using EHR systems and basic computer/network functions
• Customer service mindset, professionalism, and collaborative team orientation
• Familiarity with DNV program education and quality improvement processes
