Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and blood bank, ensuring accurate and timely results
• Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime
• Conduct quality control and assurance procedures, documenting results and taking corrective action when needed
• Process patient specimens with strict attention to labeling, handling, and storage protocols
• Provide precise blood bank testing, including type and screen, crossmatch, and antibody identification
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret results and support patient care decisions
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications

• Active California CLS or MLS license (must be currently active)
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Previous blood bank experience required
• Current TB clearance within the past 12 months
• Ability to work NOC shifts and a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory science, including chemistry, hematology, and blood bank
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and quality control procedures
• Understanding of universal precautions and infection control standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to maintain composure and accuracy in a fast-paced overnight setting
