Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming with dignity and compassion
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lift assistance when needed
• Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of care and resident observations
• Help create a warm, social environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe care environment

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or geriatric settings preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to elder care

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Familiarity with basic infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented with the ability to follow directions and escalate concerns appropriately
