Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates, maternal vitals, and labor progress to ensure safe outcomes
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency interventions as needed
• Educate families on newborn care, feeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and the care team to deliver patient-centered care
• Document care accurately and maintain a calm, reassuring presence during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Prior Labor & Delivery experience is a plus
• Ability to think quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to remain composed and effective in emergency situations
• Comfortable using electronic health records and medical technology
