Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients
• Prepare and position patients while selecting accurate anatomic and technical parameters
• Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and regulatory guidelines
• Observe patients during procedures and promptly report any abnormal activity
• Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements to enhance patient care
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to protect patients and staff
• Perform advanced imaging procedures including angio, complex vascular, and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures
• Assist the Radiologist/PA during procedures for optimal outcomes
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• Cardiographic Tech credential from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to start
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Radiologic Technologist licensure as required by applicable state regulations
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
• At least 1-2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 1-2 years of cumulative experience
• Associate's degree/Technical degree
• 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cath lab procedures and diagnostic imaging
• Skilled in contrast media administration and patient monitoring
• Understanding of radiation safety protocols
• Experience with angiography, interventional radiology, and vascular interventions
• Ability to assist radiologists and PAs during therapeutic procedures
