Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor vital signs and patient status, responding quickly to changes
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge care
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes
- Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- BLS certification required (PALS preferred)
- Previous pediatric or Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
- Ability to work flexible, as-needed shifts including weekends and holidays
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and family-centered care
- Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
- Skilled in using electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Team player with a compassionate, patient-first approach
