Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all orthodontic instruments are sterilized and ready
• Assist the orthodontist during exams, braces placements, adjustments, and removals
• Take dental X-rays, photographs, and impressions for treatment planning
• Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update Denticon software with treatment notes
• Provide a welcoming and reassuring environment for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification or registration
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
• Familiarity with Denticon practice management software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic
• Compassionate patient interaction and chairside manner
