Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia
• Monitor vital signs, consciousness, and pain levels during the immediate post-op period
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the care team to ensure safe recovery
• Educate and support families with clear, reassuring post-operative instructions
• Respond quickly and calmly to changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation for every patient

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or a compact state
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Experience in PACU, critical care, or pediatric nursing preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• A genuine passion for working with children and families

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care techniques
• Understanding of anesthesia recovery and post-op complications
• Proficient in medication dosing and IV therapy for pediatric patients
• Strong communication and family-centered care skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records and monitoring equipment
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
