Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with weeknight call 3-4 times per week from 3:15 PM - 6:45 AM and every other to every third weekend call from Friday 3:15 PM to Monday 6:45 AM

Hours per Week: 32

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

First scrub on open heart procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and thoracic cases
Prepare CVOR suites and equipment for complex cardiac and vascular surgeries
Cross-train into general OR specialties when CV volumes are low to support the team
Serve as a 1:1 sitter on the floor during low case volume periods to ensure continuous patient care
Collaborate with the CV team lead to maintain efficient scheduling and case flow

Qualifications

Current CST or NCCT certification required
BLS certification required
ND UAP registration required
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with open hearts, CABG, and valve procedures
Ability to first scrub independently on cardiac cases
Willingness to float to other OR specialties and serve as a 1:1 sitter when needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of CVOR procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and thoracic surgeries
Proficiency with ECMO, Impella 5.5, and robotic-assisted cases
Ability to adapt quickly to cross-training in general OR and ortho specialties
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a family-oriented department
