Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert care to patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injuries on a 48-bed Neuro Acute unit
Monitor 24-48 hour Trend EEGs and detect subtle neurological changes that make a real difference in patient outcomes
Perform comprehensive neuro assessments including cranial nerve evaluations while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique
Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and specialized teams to deliver exceptional care during days and nights
Float to sister units when needed, expanding your skills across multiple MedSurg/Tele environments

Qualifications

Active RN license with minimum 2 years of experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
BSN preferred, MedSurg/Tele certification a plus
Must pass dysrhythmia exam with up to 2 attempts before start

Education

BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills to catch small patient changes early
Comfort with epilepsy monitoring, Trend EEGs, and post-neurosurgical care
Ability to manage Bipap patients with RT support and recognize when to escalate
Experience with self-releasing velcro seat belts and restraint alternatives
Willingness to maintain natural hair color and clean-shaven appearance for safety compliance
