Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to oncology and trauma patients on a 28-bed PCU/Med-Surg unit
• Administer chemotherapy and manage complex medication drips including heparin and cardizem
• Monitor patients using ventilators and advanced hemodynamic equipment while delivering attentive, round-the-clock support
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians to ensure seamless patient outcomes
• Float to other PCU and Med-Surg units as needed while maintaining the same high standard of care
• Champion hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives that make every patient feel seen and supported

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology nursing experience
• Chemotherapy administration experience strongly preferred
• EPIC charting experience within the last 6 months is helpful but not required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of Omaha and have no prior employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and oncology nursing protocols
• Titration of insulin and cardizem drips
• Hemodynamic monitoring including CVP, arterial lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Ventilator management and Alaris pump operation
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
• Cultural sensitivity and genuine compassion for diverse patient populations
