Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for residents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing function
• Document progress notes and outcomes in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide education to staff, families, and residents on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist in Massachusetts
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred
• Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and treatment of dysphagia and voice disorders
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems
• Understanding of geriatric population needs
• Effective patient and family education techniques
